Meet our Pastor
Pastor Andrew Smith spent most of his youth growing up in Charlotte, NC, an area known for its rich faith heritage but having no faith of his own.  It wasn’t until his early twenties that Andrew was confronted one night by a statement that forever changed the course of his life.  A friend looked him straight in the eyes and said, “You’ll never be satisfied until you answer the call God has on your life.”  It was then, everything changed.
 
God placed a burden on Pastor Andrew’s heart to lead a church more enamored with Jesus than religion, and from this vision Andrew planted theGathering Church in South Charlotte in January 2007.  Within three years he was able to help develop and launch two additional church plants in Fort Mill and Indian Trail and lead theGathering to take one of it's boldest steps: In January 2010 theGathering relocated to the heart of Uptown Charlotte, a strategic location ideal for theGathering to execute its purpose of Joining Jesus in Reclaiming His Creation.
 
Pastor Andrew received his Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Bible from Columbia International University and his Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary.  He is blessed to be married to his best friend Megan Smith and is the proud father of three boys Drew, Tyler and Bryce.
